Below are links to websites and organizations dealing with issues related to Mormonism and secular scholarship. This list represents a diverse number of viewpoints (I have gotten into lively debates with some of the owners). What these sites have in common is that they acknowledge that the gospel is true and encourage an open discussion of mormon, scientific, and philosophical issues in a scholarly manner.
Loyal to the Word. A website dedicated to exploring gospel ideas and promoting a somewhat strict interpretation of the gospel to counter the influence from more liberal leaning mormon websites. The site is operated by Ryan. He discusses articles, reviews books, and writes posts on contemporary topics ranging from socialism to evolution. Visit his site by clicking here.
Mormon Scholars in the Humanities. A membership organization dedicated to humanistic inquiry into LDS beliefs, values, and culture. Mormon Scholars in the Humanities holds annual conferences and publishes a regular newsletter. It has an open call for papers for those who would like to present their ideas at the conference. Visit their site here.
Believe All Things. A site dedicated to exploring true principles concerning government and politics, religion, science and cosmology, and education. Greg invites all to participate in the discussion regardless of religious persuasion or background. Visit his site by clicking here.
No Death Before the Fall. A blog dedicated to issues dealing with LDS perspectives on evolution and the doctrine of "no death before the fall." In recent years it has evolved to encompass broader issues dealing with the relationship between science and LDS theology. The site belongs to Gary Shapiro. The site contains numerous thought-provoking columns and viewers' comments. Read his blog here.
Latter-Day Saint Philosopher. A blog dedicated to discussing the relationship between the doctrines of the Restoration and philosophies in science, economics, and education. This is a pro-LDS in the sense of refraining from criticizing the teachings of past and present general authorities. If you are interested in philosophical issues, this is definately one to check out. View their blog by clicking here.
